Shannon is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. Her coaching experience primarily focuses on leaders and pastors seeking to start new mission initiatives or re-orient their existing congregations to become more missional. Shannon has coached both individuals and groups, and has coached leaders across denominations. Shannon has received coaching training from ministry leadership coaching organizations as well as executive coaching organizations.
Shannon Kiser led the 1001 New Worshiping Communities Coaching network for 5 years, facilitating the annual training and new training for coaches, as well as coaching new worshiping community leaders. She continues to coach emerging PCUSA entrepreneurial leaders through this network and the 1001 Apprenticeship program. Shannon currently works as the Director of Training for Fresh Expressions US, and coaches lay and clergy leaders through a 9-month learning community cohort around starting new mission. In addition, Shannon has experience consulting with presbyteries through Phila Consulting Group to develop mission plans to re-mission closing or declining churches.
Shannon is a pastor on staff at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Sterling, VA, where she participates in a church setting which lives out missional practices and risk-taking ministry. She loves drinking coffee in Riverside’s coffee shop and meeting people in the local community, working with leaders who have a passion to impact their community, and pouring life and energy into intentional relationship building in the neighborhood and networks in which she resides. Shannon lives in Springfield, VA, with her husband, a video producer, and high school daughter. She also loves visiting her college daughter in the vibrant city of Richmond, VA.
