Prevention, Education, Coordination: Educate District residents and stakeholders on opioid use disorder, its risk, and harm reduction approaches through coordination community efforts.
Presbytery responsibilities: (past and present) Mission Coordinating Committee (MCC)
Other governing body responsibilities (past and present): I am the Co-Moderator for the Presbyterian HIV Network (PHIVN) PHEWA for over ten years. We have been rebranding and will be ushering in an overture at the GA. We successfully passed one in 2016. We are the sole voice representing people living with HIV.
Community involvement: Coordinator of the DC Senior Advisory Coalition (DC SAC), Chair of the DC LGBTQ Senior/Older Adults Taskforce for the Budget Coalition.
Please share what you believe are the key theological/social issues currently facing the church and society, and how they shape your experience in the church: Lifting the LGBTQIA+, People living with HIV (PLWH), and the Biopic community.
Please indicate why you want to represent National Capital Presbytery at the General Assembly: The last General Assembly saw minimal action on social justice. PC USA needs to be the leader.
