Whether you are serving a church, new worshipping community, specialized ministry, retired or somewhere in between, this has probably been a week full of showing up and listening to others as they try to process the results of the recent election. At the presbytery level, we’ve heard how many clergy have devoted many hours in the recent pastorally supporting congregation and community members as they process the results of the recent election and its possible repercussions all while trying to balance their own emotional response. We know this is hard and beautiful pastoral work and that our ordination vows remind us we don’t do this work alone. 

In that light, the Committee on Ministry’s Teaching Elder Care and Nurture Team invite all clergy in the National Capital Presbytery to join a Zoom meeting on Thursday, November 21st from 12-1pm to hold space for one another, share self-care strategies, and to begin to discern together what it means to be clergy in this particular moment in time.
