Saint Mark Presbyterian Church seeks to be an open and inclusive community of Christian faith pursuing the love of God and neighbor, while honoring the gifts of all people. We welcome persons of every race and class, ability, or sexual orientation, including children and adults with disabilities and their families, who seek to grow more deeply in their relationship with God and serve others in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. In its 60 years, Saint Mark has had only two pastors, and seeks a long relationship with the person God is calling to us.
Our pastor will be a gifted preacher, grounded in theology and spiritual practices, who gives us practical ways of living out our faith. They will be an advocate for social justice, racial equality, and full inclusion of the LGBTQIA community. Our pastor will have sound spiritual formation skills, who can nurture us via sermons, Bible study and prayer. This person will also be technologically savvy in using social media and on-line sites to reach others inside and outside the church. They will be a demonstrated leader who empowers members and church staff to risk when leading ministries and will be open to new ideas and approaches. Our next pastor will be a skilled listener and communicator, working to connect people of different cultures, lived experience, and worldviews so that Saint Mark continue to be a community where spirit and service are united.
