Colesville Presbyterian, located in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, was founded in 1960 with the intention of being a diverse congregation and continues to work toward that goal. As the kind of community that reflects the loving and inclusive nature of the Kingdom of God, we welcome all to participate in the various ministries of the church.
Colesville Presbyterian, with a strong tradition in worship, preaching, music, Christian education and mission, is seeking a solo pastor who brings contagious spiritual joy, enthusiasm, and energy to work with us to continue those traditions. We expect, in addition to normal pastoral duties (preaching inspiring Bible-based sermons, participating in Christian education activities, and visitation), our pastor will join us in our many mission activities challenging us to seek new ways to serve our God within our own congregation, community and the world. Even though we knew there would be backlash from some in our local community, our congregation’s long interest in social justice led our emboldened spirit to take the first step by placing a Black Lives Matter banner on our property. We invite our next pastor to take the next bold step with us.
Please see our website at www.colesvillepresbyterian.com for additional information about the church, as well as our Ministry Information Form which describes more about the church and the qualifications of our next pastor.
