The Light to the Nations: Family Fellowship Time begins with a training component on the Congregation Assessment Tool (CAT) to help congregational leaders measure the level of satisfaction and energy in their congregations, identify the critical success factors for improving the organizational climate, and pinpoint the strengths of their congregation’s culture, discover where members would like to go in the future, gauge readiness for change, uncover potential resources you may be missing, and prepare for a search for their next pastor.

The CAT session will be led by Elder Shani McIlwain (Faith Presbyterian Church), a former NCP moderator and Elder Joyce Rarumangkay (Clifton Presbyterian Church), former Light to the Nations moderator.

This session will be followed by a Worship Service with communion, led by Rev. Rachel Landers Vaagenes, Moderator-elect of the National Capital Presbytery and Pastor of Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church.

A Summer Cookout is to strengthen relationships within the Presbytery and these immigrant-dominated churches while reflecting Christ’s love in a welcoming, joyful, and culturally inclusive environment.
