Christians have long struggled to find the right relationship between their commitment to faith and their commitment to country. A significant number of Christians in the United States embrace ideas that blur the distinction between these two different loyalties, and some even believe we should merge the two identities and describe ourselves as a Christian nation. Rev. Jimmie Hawkins will share insights from a new book he wrote on the origins of Christian Nationalism and discuss a wide range of issues about Christianity’s proper role in public and political life.
