Director of Music
Trinity Presbyterian Church (TPC) in Arlington, VA is seeking a Director of Music for a salaried, 30-hour per week exempt position starting January 2026 and reporting to the Pastor/Head of Staff. Compensation will be $70,000 – $80,000 per year, with benefits depending on experience. TPC is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) with a congregation of nearly 500 members. The Director of Music plans and leads a music program that aligns with the liturgy and practices of our congregation. This is a leadership role requiring collaboration, creativity, and musical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
· Work collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, Contemporary Worship Leader, and others to select and prepare instrumental and choral music for regular and special worship services.
· Direct the Adult Choir and Handbell Choir and accompany the Contemporary Band on the keyboard.
· Select and coordinate contract vocalists and instrumentalists for services and special events.
· Oversee the care and maintenance of all church-owned musical instruments, including the organ.
Organ:
Holtkamp Organ, dedicated on January 15, 1984, is a mechanical action keyboard with electric stop action and 25 ranks. (Great-610 pipes; Swell-635 pipes; Pedal-128 pipes).
Qualifications:
· Appropriate degree(s) in music, preferably at an advanced level with demonstrated excellence in organ and keyboard performance.
· Experience integrating diverse, musical styles such as Classical, Gospel, and Jazz into the worship experience while encouraging congregation participation.
· Strong conducting skills for individuals and ensembles of all ages.
