Stated Supply Pastor
The United Parish of Bowie (UPB) is a Presbyterian and United Church of Christ congregation. UPB began as a mission-oriented church in the 70’s and first met in different church houses, before moving Sunday services to an elementary school. It was chartered on June 5, 1977. When the church became self-supporting in the early 80’s, land was purchased for a permanent facility. Work was completed in 1985, and services in the new church began. Today services are both in person and on livestream. While UPB has changed through the years, our mission statement, “United in Christ – Our Mission: To Serve” remains our focus. Community activities include Art & Music Camp, Trunk-or-Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, Bowie Food Pantry, Christmas in April, and Bowie Back to School Bash. We also enjoy a variety of fellowship activities: monthly Chat & Chew after worship, Ladies Lunch, Men’s Breakfast and Dinner and Book Club. Opportunities for spiritual growth include Women’s Circle, Lenten Dinners/Devotions, and Advent Studies.
We are seeking a Stated Supply Pastor (part-time – hours negotiable) to lead and support us as we continue to discern different ways to live out our mission statement as we move forward. See full position description below.
