DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 16\, 2025\n3:00 – 6:00 PM\n(with dinner- suggested donation of $10 to offset costs)\nRidgetop Coffee and Tea\n21631 Ridgetop Cir\, Sterling\, VA 20166 \nRegister here:\n \nYou will experience a “low” budget\, “low” staff dinner church experience easily replicable in your congregation\, review five case studies of churches doing compelling missional businesses and social enterprises learning their challenges to get started and their key learnings to begin their venture. We will take a deep dive exploring key practices and mindsets that create a mission not just a business. \nThe guides for this event are Shannon Kiser (Senior Director of Fresh Expressions North America)\, John Molina-Morre (General Presbyter of National Capital Presbytery)\, and Brian Clark (Director of the Missional Incubator of National Capital Presbytery).   \nA church starting a compelling missional business or a social enterprise\, is that weird?  Would Jesus turn over the tables\, or would Jesus be the one who greets the strangers at the door of your gym\, grocery store\, coffee café\, bookshop\, learning center\, music store…?  Many churches do not find the amount of giving in offering able to sustain the mission and few churches have visitors flocking into their doors and experience the community fully engaged in the life of their church.  Maybe a compelling business is a path to a viable future.
